Mike in front of the Texas TowerUT Austin is the flagship of the Texas state university system. With 50,000 under-graduate and graduate students, it is the 5th largest university in the US. The large campus is right smack downtown only a quarter mile from the state capitol.
After unpacking and assembling our bikes, we took a tour of the campus, state capitol and downtown area.

Riding around the magnificent Darrel Royal Memorial Stadium with a seating capacity of 100,000 is dedicated in honor of the legendary coach who led the Longhorns to 3 national championships
